Puffing Billy....Beamish Museum, Co Durham.

 At Beamish you can you can see and ride on
a replica of Puffing Billy along the Wagonway of the 1820's
 The original was built in 1813-14 by William Hedley to work on the Wylam Waggonway

 The original can be seen in the Science Museum in London and is one of the oldest surviving early locomotives
 Puffing billy worked between Wylam colliery and Lemington docks on the river Tyne.....................the original coals from Newcastle.
